Power of Attorney

Picture
A power of attorney gives someone legal authority to act on your behalf.  As the principal, you can choose to limit the power granted by you to your “agent” or “attorney-in-fact” in terms of scope or duration or you may give a broad, general power of attorney.  Additionally, you may choose the time when the powers take effect, which can be immediately or at some point in the future when certain conditions occur, such as if you become disabled.
